BURY, ENGLAND, December 05, 2010

IRIS accredited railway systems engineers, Rowe Hankins, has concluded a distribution agreement with Dipostel, a rail engineering systems specialist in France. The deal is part of Rowe Hankins strategy to seek complementary technical partnerships to ensure wider availability and local engineering support for their Hall-effect speed probes and motion sensors.

Founded in 1991, Dipostel is a highly respected distributor of rail engineering systems. The company already distributes products from major rail engineering companies in the USA and Europe. These include Wabtec Corporation and Portec Rail from the USA, Axtone Railway Components and Bremskerl from Germany as well as Danish engineers Greenwood Engineering. "The Rowe Hankins speed probes will fit comfortably within our portfolio so that we offer a more complete service on high performance bogie components," explained Dipostel director Paul Di Natale.

Rowe Hankins, sales director Mike Hankins explained, "International rail majors such as Alstom, Bombardier and Siemens regularly specify our products for UK and global projects. The robust technology, based on Hall-effect principles, makes them extremely tolerant of harsh rail environments. To optimise performance close technical liaison is required with rolling stock producers. Dipostel is a company with the right connections and technical expertise. We are confident that our customers in France will receive first class service. "

Starting as a distributor of high integrity rail safety products from Europe, Rowe Hankins now manufacture speed probes and sensors, wheel flange lubrication and other safety related electro-mechanical systems. Many of these products are used on rolling stock throughout the world. The company was one of the first component supply companies in the UK to have achieved accreditation under the internationally recognised and stringent quality IRIS standard for the rail industry.
