More Investment Announced for Mannings Heath Golf Club

The award winning "Waterfall Course" at Mannings Heath Golf Club in West Sussex has announced an extensive remodelling programme in preparation for the 2011 golf season.

2010-12-05
HORSHAM, ENGLAND, December 05, 2010 (Press-News.org) The award winning "Waterfall Course" at Mannings Heath Golf Club in West Sussex is undergoing an extensive remodelling programme in preparation for the 2011 golf season.

Exclusive Hotels, (www.exclusivehotels.co.uk), owners of Mannings Heath Golf Club are investing more than GBP100,000 rebuilding thirteen sets of tees on the 100 year old parkland course over the winter. A total of 52 new tees encompassing championship, medal and ladies tees will be ready for play in Spring 2011 and the course will remain open throughout the renovation period.

The twelve week construction programme got underway in September 2010 and has been carefully designed to minimise disruption for members and their guests who will also have full access to the Kingfisher Course.

The Exclusive Golf Team consulted with the long established "Sports Turf Research Institute" who currently advise on more than 2,000 sports facilities throughout the UK before work commenced.

Steve Slinger, Exclusive Golf Manager for the group commented: "Consulting with the STRI was vitally important, we have a 100 year old course here which is originally thought to be a Harry Colt design and we were mindful that we wanted the new tees to blend in with the historic layout whilst creating modern day hard wearing tee boxes."

Earlier this season, Exclusive Hotels invested a further GBP250,000 in the West Sussex Golf Club including a new spike bar lounge and terrace, more than 40 new electric buggies and the restoration of a 19th century cottage which can accommodate up to eight visiting golfers.

The 6,683 yard Waterfall Course has already been selected to stage the 2013 English Women's Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship and the ambitious club is hoping that they might one day be considered a possible host venue for the Open Championship pre-qualifying circuit.

Mannings Heath Golf Club is located within 500 acres of rolling Sussex downland. Offering golfers a choice of two championship courses and a very special 17th Century Clubhouse to enjoy, Mannings Heath has been an established golfing gem since 1905.

2010-12-05
Property price indices are notoriously poor at presenting an accurate picture when transaction volumes are at the low levels that are currently being experienced, but the consensus is that prices have been stabilising in recent months and in some locations, falling back. It is likely that 2011 will present a similar picture, as access to finance remains an issue and the demand from purchasers remains subdued. However, generalisations are fraught with danger and some local markets will outperform the average by quite some distance. I would expect prices in well-connected ...
