AMMAN, JORDAN, December 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) Le Meridien Amman, a member of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, has dropped the curtain on its first international art and creativity motivation competition; Le Meridien's Creative Canvas.
The Creative Canvas, a signature area in the heart of house, is designed to serve as a space to promote and display creativity among Le Meridien associates and their peers, allowing them to exhibit their own creative realizations, such as drawing, painting, photography, music, design, sculpture, cuisine, and coffee.
Giuseppe Ressa, General Manager of Le Meridien Amman commented on this initiative by saying: "The goal behind this initiative is to activate associates' creativity, ultimately empowering them to feel more confident to engage into creativity and serve Le Meridien's target guest: the creative mind."
The artwork of six associates was displayed in the staff canteen, and based on associate voting the winner Majdi Al Azam received a complimentary dinner for two at the Italian restaurant Enzo, in appreciation of his creative artwork and artistic passion. All participants also enjoyed Italian cuisine with the general manager Giuseppe Ressa, the human resources manager Rania Srouji, and the training manager Mustafa Daoud.
The winners from all participating Le Meridien Hotels will compete on an international level, and the winner will receive a free 3 nights' accommodation and round trip airfare for two people to France, Thailand, USA, Panama or Spain.
About Le Meridien
Le Meridien, the French-born hotel brand currently represented by 105 properties in 50 countries, was acquired by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) in November 2005. Since then, Le Meridien has undergone a brand transformation, which included a consolidation of its hotels and resorts, appointing a full-time Cultural Curator (French arts-provocateur Jerôme Sans) and re-inventing numerous consumer touch points, by bringing unique, curated and interactive experiences to its guests. With nearly 70 of its hotels located in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, Le Meridien provides a strong international complement to Starwood's primarily North American holdings and consumer base. Le Meridien recently opened new hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai in Thailand, Shimei Bay in China, and Dallas, Texas in the United States. Le Meridien will open hotels in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Panama City, Panama, and Xiamen, Chongqing Nan'an, and Qingdao in China. The company recently signed new hotel deals in Taipei, Taiwan.
