CARSON, CA, December 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Watson Land Company, one of Southern California's largest industrial real estate developers, has signed two new leases totaling 105,601 square feet. The transactions, which have a combined value of $3.3 million, mark an increase in South Bay leasing activity corresponding with a rise in port traffic.
"The continued growth of port activity has resulted in many South Bay companies expanding their operations to larger facilities to accommodate the increased volume," said Lance Ryan, vice president of marketing and leasing with Watson Land Company.
In the first transaction, Siwin Corporation, an exporter of plastics, signed a 39-month, $1.1 million lease for a 53,776 square foot property in Carson, Calif. The property is located at 1020 E. 230th Street within Watson Industrial Center. Siwin will use the facility to export plastic raw materials to China for re-use. Wesley Babi of LAREM represented Siwin in the transaction. Watson Land Company was represented in-house by Lance Ryan and Michael Bodlovich.
In the second transaction, imaging supplies provider Arlington Industries signed a 5-year, $2.2 million lease for a 51,825 square foot facility in Carson, Calif. The property is located at 1460 Beachey Place within a 185,375 square foot multi-tenant building in Dominguez Technology Center. Arlington will use the building for warehousing and distribution, expanding from a 20,000 square foot facility in Rancho Dominguez. Gian Starita of UGL Equis represented Arlington in the transaction. Watson Land Company was represented in-house by Lance Ryan, Jeff Jennison and Michael Bodlovich.
