TENBY, WALES, December 09, 2010 (Press-News.org) People spending time in one of the hotels Tenby has to offer during the Christmas period may like to celebrate New Year's Day by visiting the historic town of St David's.
The Pembrokeshire location is known as the smallest city in the UK and its famous cathedral is set to host a special event to welcome in the new year.
On Saturday January 1st at 14:15 GMT, the John S Davies singers will return to the cathedral for their 20th New Year's Day concert.
With John S Davies conducting the choir and Jane Watts providing accompaniment on the organ, the event is sure to mark an enjoyable start to the year for the many people in the audience.
Priced between GBP10 and GBP15, tickets are available by contacting the venue.
St David's is surrounded by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and represents the final resting place of David, the patron saint of Wales.
The cathedral lies on a site where a church has existed since the sixth century. Work on the present building began between 1180 and 1182, with the cathedral surviving an earthquake in the 13th century and many decades of alterations.
For more information on this event, visit the St David's Cathedral website or contact the venue on 01437 720480.
