First To File Releases Agent Access Portal for Electronic File Room

New Option Enables Low-Cost, Streamlined Collaboration with Global Patent Agents

2010-12-09
SAN MATEO, CA, December 09, 2010 (Press-News.org) First To File (FTF), the world's leading patent document management company, today announced the immediate availability of the Agent Access Portal (AAP) add-on to the company's Electronic File Room (EFR ) patent document management solution. More information about FTF, EFR, and AAP is available at http://www.firsttofile.com.

AAP is a lightweight version of EFR for use by global patent agents or outside counsel. It provides unique security, document workflow, tracking, and alerting capabilities, enabling an organization to easily and securely upload patent-related work and appropriately notify case owners, eliminating the need for email exchanges. AAP significantly reduces the cost and overhead of collaborating with outside partners and reduces patent litigation risk by reducing email threads that may contain discoverable material. The tool is highly configurable, enabling organizations to manage their partners based on custom document workflow and policy.

"Sophisticated patent prosecution practices are worldwide endeavors that demand close collaboration with a variety of partners," said James Bergeron, chief executive officer, First To File. "Our new Agent Access Portal drives the cost, complexity, and risk out of that collaboration, ultimately saving organizations tens and even hundreds of thousands of dollars."
