Garlock Announces the Addition of a Non-Sparking, Conveyor Roller Bearing Isolator

PALMYRA, NY, August 12, 2010

Garlock Sealing Technologies, a leader in fluid sealing technology for more than 100 years, announces the addition of a Non-Sparking, Conveyor Roller Bearing Isolator. The KLOZURE GUARDIANTM was listed by the US Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration as an innovative product within the MSHA accident prevention program.

The innovative products program directly addresses the replacement of plastic and rubber seals that could lead to sparking or eventual fire and costly bearing damage. The GUARDIAN non-sparking design prevents the failure mode by virtue of its design; non-contacting labyrinth design with easy to install Cam-Lok o-rings. The MSHA innovative product posting says "Bearings are typically designed to last 20 years or more, but very seldom do, mostly because they are not adequately protected." "The GUARDIAN, with its IEEE 841-2001 IP56 rating, ensure proper bearing protection by eliminating both dust and liquid from entering the bearing housing," says Earl Rogalski, senior product manager for Garlock.
