FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, December 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Pillars Hotel, Fort Lauderdale's premier boutique hotel, introduces a new fresh and modern website and logo to reflect the current look and feel of the hotel resulting from the property's recent improvement program. The updated website features new photos highlighting the revamped common areas and the many enhancements made to the rooms and suites.

"We want our website design to showcase the hotel as it is now. Although it was sophisticated and elegant before, the property is now warmer and more contemporary," says Pillars owner Michael Landry.

The main house of The Pillars was designed in 1939 by renowned Miami architect Wahl Snyder who combined both the classic and art deco style to create one of Fort Lauderdale's largest and most elegant family residences of its day. Some of Snyder's most famous home designs include Amalia Bacardi's residence near Havana, Cuba and a Bahamian home for actors Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Also one of Snyder's most prestigious commissions was to design the building that houses the school of architecture at the University of Miami.

Designer Zeke Fernandez and architect Ron Trebbi followed Snyder's lead for the remodeling by integrating modern deco and traditional styling in the common areas and rooms. The result provides for an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic. The new logo incorporates this feel by using the uncomplicated, low waisted 30s deco style Plaza type.

"The aim of the project was to embrace Snyder's ability to push boundaries of the then conventional thinking by mixing a colonial building with late art deco detailing. You can clearly see this in the fluted window and door surrounds and streamlined ceiling detail," says Trebbi. "Zeke Fernandez was very effective in blending the architecture and design."

The Pillars Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) and a Conde Nast Johansen selected hotel. The property is an elegant and sophisticated 18 room hotel ideally located right on the Intracoastal Waterway, and only a few short steps from the beach.
