Taking place in the nearby Basque village of Zarautz on September 27th, the event has been billed as a laidback celebration of surfing movies, featuring local and international productions.

According to a report from EITB.com, the festival will be held on the boardwalk of Zarautz beach at sunset and will also include special live music sessions.

The news website stated that the area is set to become the "meeting point of all surf lovers" in Spain, with two other festival dates planned for August 27th and September 10th.

Surfing films being screened at the event include Margarita Cadillac, Orain: Daniel's Longboards and The Seedling.

The organisers state that the festival originated "from the desire to want to promote this activity within the surfing framework of Zarautz, in an easygoing and casual setting".

Due to its consistently high waves, Zarautz is known as one of Spain's top surfing locations and its 2.5-kilometre beach attracts lovers of the sport from all over the world every year.
