GARDEN CITY, NY, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Center for Complex Spinal Reconstruction, or CCSR (www.centerforcomplexspinalreconstruction.com), has recently launched a new website to provide information to patients and physicians across the nation about their unique approach to spine and back care. With the new website and the combined effort of three surgeons from three distinct medical backgrounds, patients who have complex spinal conditions can find hope regardless of how challenging their condition may be to treat.
As one of the main features of CCSR's new site, their Conditions & Procedures page offers detailed information about the various complex conditions and treatments the surgeons offer. As orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Marc Agulnick explains, "Some people may either not be aware of their options for correcting conditions like scoliosis or a spinal cord injury on Long Island. In other cases, they may have been told that their condition is too complicated to treat successfully. Part of our goal is to reach out to these patients and let them know that they can have hope."
But providing hope is only part of their mission in creating the new Web site. Dr. Agulnick, neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin R. Cohen and plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Davenport have provided information to other surgeons in their "For Physicians" section, helping back doctors across the country provide top-notch care for their patients.
"We treat everything from spinal infection, deformity, trauma, tumors, and damage due to previously failed surgery and we often will take on truly challenging cases with the hope that every spinal condition can be treated," says Dr. Cohen, the team's neurosurgeon. "Physicians across the country refer some of their most challenging cases to us, knowing that our multidisciplinary approach can deliver exceptional outcomes."
The surgeons believe that their approach to spinal surgery amplifies their ability to address conditions from multiple angles. With each surgeon bringing his specialty to the team, every patient who comes to CCSR can benefit from the specific techniques each surgeon has developed through years of practice.
"Whether we're treating a spinal cord injury, a spinal tumor, or pediatric scoliosis on Long Island, Dr. Agulnick, Dr. Cohen and I each work with the patient to develop a personalized treatment plan," says Dr. Davenport, the team's plastic surgeon who specializes in reconstructive procedures. "By collaborating with each other and understanding every angle of the function and form of the spine, we have more brain-power behind solving intricate spinal concerns."
With the new Web site, the surgeons hope to spread the word about their procedures not just to those in New York, but to patients across the nation as well. "It's about giving the best care we can," says Dr. Agulnick, "regardless of the patient's condition or location. It's our goal to reach out, see what new challenges it brings us and work with the latest techniques to successfully the patients we serve."
The Center for Complex Spinal Reconstruction (www.centerforcomplexspinalreconstruction.com) has a team of three spinal surgeons who use their specialized skills and experience to provide high quality care for patients suffering from complex spinal and back conditions. As highly-experienced surgeons, Dr. Marc Agulnick, an othopaedic surgeon who graduated from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Benjamin R. Cohen, a neurosurgeon who graduated from Chicago Medical School and Dr. Thomas Davenport, a plastic surgeon who graduated from Yale University treat a wide range of conditions including spinal infection, trauma, tumors, deformity, and damage from failed spinal surgery.
