COSTA MESA, CA, December 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Watson Land Company, one of Southern California's largest industrial real estate developers, has leased a 258,678 square foot industrial building with 8.4 acres of excess land to NYK Logistics within Watson Industrial Center. The warehousing and distribution center will accommodate an expansion of the third party logistics provider's operations. The 27-month lease is valued at approximately $6 million.
Watson Land Company has now leased more than 730,000 square feet of space within the 6.7 million square foot Watson Industrial Center during the second half of 2010.
"The building's cross dock configuration coupled with the expansive land area allow us to expand in response to a growing demand for our services," said James Armstrong, Senior Vice President and General Manger of NYK Logistics.
The property is located on 18.52 acres at 771 Watsoncenter Road in Carson, Calif. and includes approximately 8.4 acres of excess land dedicated for trailer storage spots and 56 dock high truck positions.
Watson Land Company is currently completing an extensive renovation that includes an increased turning radius, increased dock-high loading capacity, a new facade and new office space.
Watson Industrial Center is located in the heart of the South Bay market in close proximity to major Los Angeles freeways, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Long Beach Airport (LGB).
