GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA, December 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Australia's top cowboys and girls are gearing up to do battle at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in the 2011 National Finals Rodeo.

The event involves the top 15 men and women in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association doing battle over six demanding contests, which is sure to be exciting for anyone who steps out from their Surfers Paradise hotels to watch the action.

Among the challenges that will decide the eventual winners are bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc and team roping.

Plenty of other entertainment is laid on away from the thrills and spills of the rodeo. A family fun night will be held on the opening evening on Thursday January 13th, while a kids' matinee show has been planned for Saturday January 15th.

These will take place ahead of the grand final on Sunday January 16th, so people staying in Gold Coast hotels who attend the event should find there is something on offer for all ages.

Tickets for the occasion have been on sale since the start of November 2010, so anyone keen to attend should purchase them sooner rather than later.

Prices start at A$19 for adults and A$12 for children, while passes for a family of four are available from A$50.
