2010-12-19
December 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) A divorce can be one of the most stressful and emotionally involved experiences of a person's life. Basics of Texas Divorce Law was written by Michelle May O'Neil and Ashley Bowline Russell, attorneys with O'Neil Attorneys, a family law boutique firm in Dallas, Texas, to provide spouses contemplating divorce with information about what to expect in the process.

Dallas Divorce Attorney Michelle May O'Neil announces the release of her latest book Basics of Texas Divorce Law. She co-wrote the book with Ashley Bowline Russell, also an attorney with the firm. The book, aimed at spouses contemplating divorce who want to understand more about the law, retails for $12.99 online at http://www.lulu.com and will be released on Amazon.com around the first of the year. The firm will also have copies available on its website http://www.themayfirm.com or in the office.

"A divorce can be one of the most stressful and emotionally involved experiences of a person's life," says O'Neil. "This book is ideal for anyone wanting to educate themselves better on the process of a Texas divorce." Questions like "Am I Ready For Divorce?" or "Do I Need An Attorney?" become crucially important. Basics of Texas Divorce Law is designed to provide basic information about a Texas divorce proceeding. Although no substitute for the specific advice of an attorney about a particular situation, Ms. O'Neil and Ms. Russell provide essential information about a Texas divorce, including the five stages of a Texas divorce proceeding; the difference between a no-fault divorce and a fault divorce; how to approach dividing property in a Texas divorce; and the four issues that relate to children in a Texas divorce.

Michelle May O'Neil compassionately, yet relentlessly, represents her family law clients both in litigation at the trial and appellate court levels. Ms. O'Neil received the designation as a Texas Family Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1997 and has maintained that certification since. A frequent presenter at family law attorney continuing education programs, Ms. O'Neil's first book, All About Texas Law and Kids , was published in 2009 by Texas Lawyer Books. One judge said of Ms. O'Neil, "She cannot be out-gunned, out-briefed or out-lawyered!"

Ashley Bowline Russell developed her passion for family law while serving as an attorney ad litem in cases involving abused children. She joined O'Neil Attorneys upon graduation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and immediately began utilizing her background in psychology and creative writing to assist the firm's family law clients in navigating through their Texas family law matters in the trial and appellate courts.
