LateRooms.com - Check Out Swan Lake in Liverpool

Liverpool welcomes the Russian State Ballet in January for a performance of Swan Lake.

2010-12-19
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, December 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Russian State Ballet and Orchestra of Siberia will be in Liverpool in the new year to perform Swan Lake.

Guests at Liverpool hotels have two opportunities to catch the show in the north-west city, with the company taking to the stage on January 13th and 14th 2011.

"From the opulence and splendour of the magnificent court room to the exhilarating lake scenes where swans play in perfect formation, Tchaikovsky's hauntingly beautiful music creates a truly unforgettable experience," noted the organisers.

They described Swan Lake, which was written by the great composer between 1875 and 1876, as the best romantic ballet in history and lauded the way it portrays the magic and beauty of immortal love.

It is widely believed that the story comes from a mixture of Russian and German legends.

The Russian State Ballet, which was established in 1981, will perform their beautiful interpretation of the tale at the Liverpool Empire.

As well as the majesty of the dancers' movements, visitors can expect to see some impressive costumes at the occasion.

Both performances kick off at 19:30 GMT, but attendees are advised to arrive early so as to find their seats before the action begins.

Ticket prices range from GBP16.75 to GBP35 depending on where in the theatre people want watch the production from.

For more information on this event, visit the Liverpool Empire website or contact the venue on 0151 702 7320.
