LEM Products, Inc. Enters Phase 2 of Lean Manufacturing

LEM Products, Inc. has been putting tireless effort into to trying to eliminate unnecessary waste in their manufacturing process.

2010-09-01
DOYLESTOWN, PA, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) LEM Products Inc., leading producer of electrical markers and safety labels, has announced that they are embarking on Phase Two of Lean Manufacturing. This elimination of waste during their manufacturing process will also affect cost for their branch company Wiremarkerbooks.com.

Lean is the set of "tools" that assist in the identification and steady elimination of waste. As waste is eliminated quality improves while production time and cost are reduced. Examples of such "tools" are Value Stream Mapping, Five S, Kanban (pull systems), and poka-yoke (error-proofing).

"The catalyst to further invest in LEAN is to protect our customers from ever increasing material costs we are incurring. Material costs are escalating at a rate of 7 to 10%, improved efficiencies in our operations are critical," states Maureen O'Connor, CEO. "LEM's competitive edge is rapid customer response with competitive pricing. We still operate based on customer satisfaction as the benchmark for our success - that is our culture."

"Waste is not good for our planet, and waste does not support competitive advantage," says Ms. O'Connor, "therefore a Lean culture is environmentally sound and is an excellent business strategy. Lean is focused on getting the right things to the right place at the right time. In my mind that sounds like "exceptional customer service!"

LEM Products, Inc. provides compliant and responsible industrial identification products ranging from electrical markers, safety labels and safety signs to lockout tagout to custom tags, pipe identification much more. LEM's identification products alert both employees and visitors to be aware of the possibility of injury and to stay away from dangerous situations and places. Their products are used by major industries and corporations worldwide to identify hazards, mark for brand identification, provide instructional information, convey direction and promote safety.
