DALLAS, TX, December 22, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Essence Music Festival has been named the largest event celebrating African American culture and music in the United States. This annual weekend event has been held in New
Orleans, Louisiana every year since 1994 except for 2006, when it was held in Houston,
Texas due to Hurricane Katrina. There had been controversy earlier this year as to whether
the event would return to New Orleans in 2011.
It has been confirmed that the 2011 Essence Music Festival will be held Friday, July 1, 2011
through Sunday, July 4, 2011 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
