Their results, based on various site-specific criteria, revealed New Look to be the highest scoring website, offering the best shopping basket experience.

The evaluation was informed on three basic key factors: for each site that Nomensa assessed, the checkout process was tested for efficiency, quality of the user experience (UX design) and how emotionally engaged the customer was with the site.

Surveys from a 2009 PayPal US customer online purchasing study, found that within a three week period, 22% of US customers had discarded their order at the point of checkout because they didn't feel reassuringly guided. Further to this, 21% had left their purchase because they were uncertain of the credibility of credit card data security. With an average basket value of $109 USD, abandoning a purchase because the checkout design does not reassure or reveal itself accurately and helpfully had an impact on a significant loss in profit.

New Look, scored highly across all three of the key factors, hitting a total of 77 out of a maximum of 90. New Look hit targets for efficiency and UX design, and also appeared to have developed a strong emotional engagement with their online customers.
