Three Garvey Schubert Barer Owners Honored as "Lawyers of the Year" by Best Lawyers

Three Garvey Schubert Barer Owners have been selected as 2011 "Lawyers of the Year" by Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Three Garvey Schubert Barer Owners have been selected as 2011 "Lawyers of the Year" by Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession. In Seattle, Bruce A. King was selected in the maritime law category. In Portland, Edward J. Sullivan and Robert C. Weaver were selected in the practice areas of administrative law and criminal defense: white-collar, respectively.

King practices maritime finance, regulation and bankruptcy, and general commercial law. His experience includes a wide range of U.S.- and foreign-flag vessel financing, chartering and construction projects. King has been recognized by Best Lawyers in the practice area of maritime law each year since 2007. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, J.D. (1979) and Brown University, A.B. (1975).

Sullivan focuses on planning, administrative and municipal law. Recognized by Best Lawyers in the practice area of land use and zoning law since 2007, he is currently city attorney for Oregon City, Island City and Rivergrove in Oregon and acts as special counsel for other local governments throughout the state. Sullivan is a graduate of Willamette University College of Law, J.D. (1969); University College (London), LL.M. Weaver has an active criminal defense practice, including: representing clients subject to government regulatory investigations with potential civil and criminal penalties; performing protected, internal corporate investigations; and handling all aspects of trial and appeal. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in the areas of commercial litigation and criminal defense: white-collar and non-white-collar since 1995. Weaver is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, J.D. (1975) and B.A. (1972).
