PERTH, AUSTRALIA, December 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) With Australia Day approaching, tourists will no doubt be searching for Perth hotels ahead of the city's annual Skyworks celebrations.
The January 26th 2011 event will be the 26th time the Skyworks have taken place, with Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi revealing the festivities will be focused on the beliefs and values that can be taken from Advance Australia Fair.
Ms Scaffidi has said the display will be no less impressive than usual, which means cheap hotels Perth guests can still expect to see "another dazzling pyrotechnic and sound spectacular".
But she stressed the upcoming edition will have a "deeper significance" than on previous occasions, with the organisers looking to encourage the message of people from different backgrounds coming together as one.
"It's also about showing respect for one another, so everyone can enjoy the day," the lord mayor added.
Plenty of entertainment has been planned for the day, including the Too Solid music festival from 12:30 to 19:30 local time at Supreme Court Gardens and an air show from 15:30 to 19:55.
The main event is due to take place between 20:00 and 20:30, with people who have booked last minute hotels to watch the spectacle advised to check it out from the Perth Water Foreshore or Kings Park.
For more information on this event, visit the Australia Day Skyworks website or contact the organisers on (+61) 8 9461 3132.
