Review for PC-2-Phone, the New Product from Phone Cards Central
2010-12-31
PANAMA CITY, PANAMA, December 31, 2010 (Press-News.org) Phone Cards Central has recently launched a new product on their website - PC-2-Phone. This is an application which allows you to make cheap phone calls right from your PC, with only an Internet connection and a headset with microphone.

The application can be downloaded for free right from the company's website, and then can be used it to make low rate international calls to pretty much any destination in the world! So why would you use this application, and not your calling plan? To begin with, the rates are lower (for domestic calls within USA for example, you get 35% more minutes using PC-2-Phone, than by using your calling plan) and the dialing process is a lot faster: you just dial the number in international format (no access number or PIN required), or save all your contacts in the contacts list and connect to them with just one click.

They have added some great features to this product too, such as virtual number (you rent a phone number in a location/country of your choice, and other people can call you on that number at local rates), voice mail and call forward. But let's see what the company's representative has to say about the product:

"We had the idea to develop and add this new product to Phone Cards Central, since we realized there might be many people out there who can benefit from calling directly from their PC - with lower rates. The business sector is a great example: if you're collaborating with someone abroad and you wish to call them, you can do so from right in front of your PC: call them on their mobile, and discuss the latest offer they sent to you via e-mail; why call using a phone, when you can simply call using your head set and also receive lower rates?

Besides, we expect the Virtual Number feature to be of great help to people who travel a lot, especially to various locations; assume all your friends and family are in USA but you travel a lot to many different countries. Then, you can simply rent a US Virtual Number, give it to your friends in USA and they can call you paying for a simple local call; you can answer from the PC-2-Phone application, or have the calls forwarded to your own cell phone. There's really many, many ways that this new product can benefit our customers, and any feedback on their part is welcome and we'll sure use it to improve the product furthermore!" Sylvia Pope, Business Development Manager, WDN Communications

Phone Cards Central is not just your usual online phone cards store. We have designed a variety of products, for a variety of callers and PC to Phone is only one of them.

New "Stars on Cars" Rating System Revealed

2010-12-31
In October, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) unveiled a new five-star rating system to judge safety standards on new vehicles. NHTSA cited the need for new standards because so many vehicles had reached the highest safety levels under the old rating system. A report by the Associated Press notes that in past years, nearly 90 percent of vehicles earned four or five stars. Less than 30 percent of vehicles achieved that rating in 1979. According to The New York Times, only two vehicles received the highest rating of five stars out of the 33 ...

Watch Out! Slippery Conditions Abound in New York City

2010-12-31
One of the major hazards of living in New York City is dealing with large amounts of snow and ice. Every winter, New Yorkers receive a heavy dose of "winter wonderland." While the sight of falling and accumulating snow can be pretty, a slip and fall on the snow or ice can be pretty painful. Many New Yorkers don't realize that landlords and homeowners have the responsibility of clearing snow and ice to prevent slip-and-fall injuries. If a person is injured while walking on snow or ice that should have been cleared, the injured victim can sue for damages associated with ...

Could Proposed Reforms Change the Face of New Jersey Medical Malpractice Claims?

2010-12-31
A long-standing bill slowly making its way through the New Jersey legislature urges reform of allegedly draconian state tort laws that some say are forcing qualified physicians to leave the state in droves. The legislation, Assembly Bill A-1982, sponsored by Assemblywoman Amy Handlin, aims to limit the ability of medical malpractice insurers to raise premiums on doctors unless they are actually found guilty of medical malpractice. Current law allows a physician's medical malpractice insurer to significantly increase the cost of insurance coverage at the simple filing ...

New Risks Posed by Accountable Care Organizations

2010-12-31
When Congress passed the health care law earlier this year, one of the goals was to foster cooperation within the currently fragmented health care system. In theory, by encouraging medical professionals to cooperate and take joint responsibility for the costs and quality of patient care and providing incentives for this cooperation, the costs of medical care should go down while the quality rises. Across the country, hospitals, clinics and doctors are joining forces through new entities known as accountable care organizations, eager to reap the benefits of the newly-established ...
