Jumeirah Announces Management Appointments for Maldives Resorts

Jumeirah Group has announced new management appointments for its upcoming Maldives resorts.

DUBAI, UAE, January 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holding, has announced two management appointments for its two upcoming properties in the Maldives: Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.

Stefan Huemer joins Jumeirah Group as area general manager for the Maldives, with a particular remit to lead the pre-opening team of Jumeirah's first two resorts in the Maldives. Mr. Huemer has over 20 years experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked for international brands such as Radisson, Kempinski, Le Meridien and Mandarin Oriental. His career has included senior hotel positions in Austria, France, Singapore, Philippines and Germany. Most recently, Mr. Huemer was the general manager of Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City Hotel. In fact, Mr. Huemer is no stranger to the Maldives, having been the regional general manager and island chief for the Kuredu & Komandoo Island Resort & Spa for five years.

As part of this latest wave of appointments, Jumeirah is also welcoming Alexandre Hulen, who has been appointed as director of sales & marketing for the Maldives. Mr. Hulen brings 12 years of international experience in the hospitality industry, having worked for prestigious hotel groups such as Concorde Hotels, The Eton Collection, Le Meridien and Anantara. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Alexandre was working for the prestigious Anantara Group, overseeing the Sales and Marketing activities of three luxury hotels in the Maldives.

These two latest appointments to key roles within the luxury hotels Maldives sector highlight the care and importance Jumeirah is placing on the upcoming opening of its two new properties - Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli.
