ConnectedSign Wins 2010 Best Content DIGI Award for Work With Agnico-Eagle Mines

LANCASTER, PA, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Last week the winners of the 2010 DIGI Awards were announced and ConnectedSign was named the winner of the "Best Content: Corporate Communications" category for their digital signage project with Agnico-Eagle Mines. The awards, presented by Digital Signage Magazine and The Digital Signage Group, are to "recognize resellers, integrators and service providers who have gone the extra mile to ensure success for their clients, thereby furthering the digital signage industry as a whole."

The award was presented for the digital signage content expertise and service ConnectedSign provided to Agnico-Eagle Mines, a world leader in gold extraction. "Beginning in 2006, Agnico-Eagle went through a period of rapid growth. We expanded from 1 operating mine to 6 and from 1000 employees to just over 5000", Lino Caffazo, VP of Information Technology at Agnico-Eagle Mines explains. "The challenge now was to make sure that all employees stayed up to date with, at the very least, company news and announcements. So the process began to find a technology that would help us distribute information to all employees, whether they had access to a computer or not. After a few vendor proposals we decided to partner up with Connectedsign. They provided us with a product that is easy to manage and maintain and the experience to help the IT department deploy it across the company with relative ease". The large scale project was handled exclusively by ConnectedSign. A visual epicenter was created for videos, inner-corporate initiatives, project features, and dig site / division biographies, among other items.

The content created included a number of impressive features such as a division flag rotating inside of a flash based document showing the worldwide mining projects undertaken by Agnico-Eagle Mines, as well as division information which varies by location and highlights the specific site details of the mine. The screens are broadcasted with multilingual functionality based on the region of deployment. ConnectedSign provided Agnico-Eagle Mines with digital signage which allows them a more personal look at each individual division as well as a look at corporate goals and the focuses of other divisions around the globe.
