LateRooms.com - Enjoy The Three Degrees During a Lake District Stay

Lake District visitors can see The Three Degrees perform live on January 30th.

2011-01-09
LAKE DISTRICT, ENGLAND, January 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Legendary vocal group The Three Degrees may give winter holidaymakers a reason to venture out from their Lake District accommodation later this month.

The trio are due to perform at The Forum in Barrow-in-Furness on Sunday January 30th, when they are likely to treat fans to renditions of classic hits such as When Will I See You Again and Take Good Care of Yourself.

Formed in Philadelphia, the group have gone through a number of personnel changes since their first single was released in 1965.

A total of 12 singers have represented The Three Degrees over the years, with the current line-up consisting of Valerie Holiday, Helen Scott and Cynthia Garrison.

According to the group's website, the latest incarnation of the band continues where their predecessors left off by maintaining three key factors - "their beauty, their sparkling choreography and their precise vocal qualities".

When Will I See You Again, the group's most famous song, became a worldwide hit in 1974 and spawned cover versions by a variety of artists.

It reached number one in the UK, making The Three Degrees the first girl group to top the charts since The Supremes ten years earlier.

Tickets for the performance in Barrow are priced at GBP18.50 and the music is due to begin at 19:30 GMT.

For more information on this event, visit The Forum website or contact the venue on 01229 820000.
