VANCOUVER, BC, January 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) The world's first ever personal finance guest-blogging contest began on January 10, offering people the chance to win $1000 for their financial advice and observations. The world premiere is being hosted by Credit Cards Canada.
As guest blogging has exploded over the past year, guest blogging contests have also become popular during that time. However, most have tended to focus on the subject s of how to blog and how to promote a blog or website. The CCC Personal Finance Guest Blogging Contest opens the guest blogging contest opportunity to a "real people" topic - personal finance - which bloggers of almost every topic can participate.
Although more sponsors might still step forward, the contest already has over $2500 in prize money allocated for the winners. Many sponsors who have ponied up $50 - $200 in prize money. Two of the more notable ones, which were also first to lend their support, are:
My Blog Guest ( http://www.MyBlogGuest.com ) , the world's top Guest Blogging website, which has led the way in promoting guest blogging as a means of building community amongst bloggers.
Famous Bloggers (http://www.FamousBloggers.ne )t , one of the top blogging advice blogs and the host of what is probably the most successful guest blogging contests to date.
People join guest blogging contests for several reasons; the money is only part of the incentive. People love the chance to share their knowledge and opinions with others, and this gives them a new platform with a larger than usual audience. People also love to be part of an event, so this adds a very social aspect to blogging. Guest blogging contests also help build a person's reputation in their field, create a buzz and draw new readers to their blog.
Although the contest is being hosted by a Canadian blog, entries will have to be international in flavour to reflect the international readership of "Credit, Eh", the Credit Cards Canada blog, and be of a very high quality in both the writing and the ideas being expressed.
People who wish to participate, either as bloggers or as sponsors, are invited to visit the official contest announcement at http://www.creditcardscanada.ca/blog/uncategorized/write-a-blog-post-get-paid-1000/
Credit Cards Canada (http://www.creditcardscanada.ca/ )offers objective reviews of current Canadian credit card offers, as well as online application forms. Credit Eh (http://www.creditcardscanada.ca/blog/ ) is the blog run by Credit Cards Canada; when not in "contest mode", it offers news, advice and commentary on topics related to credit cards.
