Boardman as his family's home, the inn has an extensive history dating back to the Civil War-era and is an exquisite example of Second Empire architecture. The historic landmark opened as The Boardman House Inn in 2010.
The newly renovated rooms and suites are individually designed and decorated with period antiques and artwork, oriental rugs and rich fabrics. Each accommodation offers luxurious comfort allowing guests to unwind and relax in a peaceful environment complete with private porches, king-size beds with comfortable feather topped mattresses and luxurious linens.
In addition, all accommodations have newly finished private en-suite baths with heated marble floors and luxurious amenities as well as modern conveniences like air conditioning, complimentary wireless Internet access and flat screen televisions. Gillette Castle - the most visited attraction in Connecticut - was the unique home of Sherlock Holmes actor William Gillette with its beautiful park, is just up the hill.
