CORNWALL, ENGLAND, January 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) A performance from veteran songwriter Paul Carrack could prove to be a holiday highlight for people staying in Cornwall later this month.
The Sheffield-born musician, whose distinguished career has included spells in Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics, will play at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on Saturday January 29th.
Carrack is touring the UK following the recent release of his latest album A Different Hat, which sees the singer accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Fans staying in one of the luxury hotels Cornwall has to offer can purchase tickets for GBP24.50 and GBP27.50, with the show due to begin at 20:00 GMT.
Carrack started his career in the early 1970s and fronted the band Ace, who enjoyed a hit single with How Long? in 1975.
After a brief stint as a member of Roxy Music, Carrack became the keyboardist in Squeeze as a replacement for the departing Jools Holland.
He contributed to the London-based group's acclaimed East Side Story album and sang lead vocals on Tempted, which became one of their biggest radio hits.
Carrack left the band in 1982 to continue his solo career and was later asked to join Mike & The Mechanics, a side project for Mike Rutherford of Genesis.
The group enjoyed hits such as the number 12 smash Over My Shoulder in 1995, which fans will no doubt be hoping to hear as part of Carrack's set in Cornwall.
