HUNTSVILLE, AL, January 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) XIST Filmworks, in association with Lavon Filmworks, announced today that it will premiere the trailer for its debut feature film project, STAND, from writer/director/producer T. Black, at Urban Soul Cafe in Nashville, TN, on January 15, 2010, immediately following The Stellar Gospel Music Awards ceremony.
STAND is a music-filled drama about three members of a gospel rap group, True City, who are forced to make a life changing decision to accept a recording contract or to turn it down because the terms of the offer are in conflict with their personal beliefs. Many factors entice them to choose prosperity over principle including their many financial struggles and catching a glimpse of the luxury that awaits if they sign. Set to a soundtrack of electrifying original contemporary gospel music songs, STAND is a bold, modern-day telling of the Biblical story of the 3 Hebrew boys that is intense, joyful and thought provoking.
T. Black, the writer, director and producer of STAND, is an acclaimed gospel music video producer and director who makes his feature length debut with this film, showcasing a talented cast of popular gospel music recording artists and gifted actors. Said Black, "Any new director could not ask for a better first film experience, in terms of my experienced crew and the outstanding cast of actors and singers in STAND. And now, being able to debut the movie's trailer at one of the Stellar Awards after-parties on one of Gospel music's most important nights, is more than I could hope for."
Renowned R&B and Gospel music artist Shirley Murdock, Dove Award winner Karima Kibble of the Gospel music group Virtue, XIST Music dynamic recording artist Sean Simmonds as well as breakout actors Courtney "JR" Peebles and Willie Moore Jr., and rapper/actor Quest Green are featured in STAND. The vibrant cast tells the story powerfully, in word and song, to make audiences feel good and consider similar situations in their own lives.
The trailer for the movie STAND will premiere on January 15th at Urban Soul Cafe in Nashville, TN, at an official after-party immediately following the Stellar Gospel Music Awards ceremony, at approximately 10PM CST. The Urban Soul Cafe event will be held at Visions Production Studio, 609 9th Avenue South, Nashville, TN, 37203. The official web site—www.stand-movie.com—where the trailer will be available will also be launched January 15th. The film was shot in Huntsville, AL in the spring of 2010. STAND is expected to be released nationwide in the late fall of 2011.
