BOULDER, CO, January 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) Boulder Digital Arts, Colorado's central resource for technical creatives and digital professionals, will be offering an accelerated Web Design Transitions Certificate Program at their Arapahoe Studio in Boulder, Colo., beginning Feb. 7. The program will be taught by industry veteran Kelly McCormack and is designed for people who are either looking to reenter the workforce or advance their skills as web development professionals.
Courses are offered in two formats to accommodate the busy schedules of students: weekdays for one full week or two evenings per week for five weeks.
BDA's Transitions Certificate Programs - which offer a full curriculum in all the creative disciplines, including video/film production and post-production, web/interactive development, digital photography, graphic design and business and marketing topics such as search engine optimization, web marketing and social media - provide participants the practical knowledge and skills needed to be successful within a particular discipline. Transitions classes are designed using a project-based learning approach that combines engaging lectures with hands-on practice. Every Transitions course has a clear and concise learning outcome for students. Class sizes are limited to eight students so that the instructor can assist and engage with every student individually.
"These are skills-based classes where the goal is to take what you've learned and apply it to your job tomorrow," explains Bruce Borowsky, co-founder of Boulder Digital Arts. "Our Transitions programs are unique in that they downplay academic theory and, instead, focus on practical tricks of the trade from leading industry professionals."
BDA's upcoming web design program will teach students how to design and build a website from the ground up using the best industry practices. Students will be guided through everything from user interface design in Photoshop to building standard-compliant pages using XHTML, CSS and Javascript, to writing HTML and CSS, and even search engine optimization, all while building an actual sample website.
Registration fees for Boulder Digital Arts' Web Design Transitions Certificate Program are $999 for BDA members and $1,099 for non-members. After Feb. 2, prices will increase to $1,009 and $1,109, respectively. Included in this registration fee is BDA's concierge service, in which a BDA staff member follows up with a Transitions student after registration to answer any questions and assist in arranging any travel accommodations, transportation or other logistical needs. Boulder Digital Arts has negotiated discounted rates at several local hotels and service providers for all Transitions students, as well.
To register for BDA's Web Design Transitions program, simply visit the Boulder Digital Arts' website and sign-up online in minutes.
