SINGAPORE, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) With millions of ebooks available today, one can potentially collect a lifetime's worth of books and store them in a library the size of a paperback novel. However, consumers have few decent options for their most important need - a way to manage their ebook collection. Tech startup KooBits aims to change that with KooBits 4.0, a software application that aims to enhance the way people read their ebooks.
KooBits 4.0 helps users better manage their ebook collections with a host of user-friendly features. In addition to titles downloaded from KooBits' bookstore, users can import their own ebooks in popular formats such as EPUB and PDF, create custom categories, and drag their books around to arrange them on virtual bookshelves. They can then highlight, bookmark, and clip notes from important sections of their ebooks. KooBits 4.0 even delivers a free ebook each day to users based on their reading preferences.
KooBits' greater goal, however, is to offer a gamut of rich interactive ebooks to users - think animations, quiz elements, narration, and touchscreen features. The startup has already produced a number of these in partnership with leading book distributors, and CEO Stanley Han believes interactive ebooks add value to the reading experience. "We created KooBits 4.0 to help make interactive ebooks the norm and to push the boundaries of imagination. This is critical for capturing the attention of digital natives, who are already used to consuming content online in a typical manner."
With additional features such as book translation and themed skins in the pipeline, KooBits 4.0 is raising the bar for similar ebook reader apps. Other planned developments of the software include a Mac version in February, iPhone and Android apps, and integration with social networks.
KooBits 4.0 is currently available for computers running Windows XP and above, and can be downloaded for free at http://www.koobits.com.
KooBits is an innovative software company specializing in e-publishing. Its ebook reader software, KooBits 4.0, has been downloaded over 10,000 times. KooBits has partnered with leading physical book distributors worldwide such as Tien Wah Press and PaperCutz, as well as independent authors, to produce rich interactive ebooks aimed at revolutionizing the ebook industry. In addition to KooBits 4.0, the company offers a full-featured ebook editor that allows consumers to create their own interactive ebooks.
