GARNER, NC, September 03, 2010 (Press-News.org) Going once, going twice ... the Garner Mid-Day Rotary Club Foundation seeks auction items for its second annual Black, White & Bling Gala, which benefits local children.

Set for Saturday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., at the Grand Marquise Ballroom in Garner, the gala will feature both live and silent auctions, door prizes, and chances to win a 1.08-carat round brilliant diamond or $2,500 cash.

Area businesses and individuals are invited to supply goods or services to be auctioned for the cause during this black-tie-optional event.
Five big-ticket items, each valued at $250 or more, will go to the highest bidder in a live auction. Auction items confirmed to date include a Frigidaire frontload washer and dryer, a 1-ounce American Eagle gold coin, and a 2010 NCAA basketball signed by Duke University's championship basketball team.

Ten items, valued at $100 to $250, will be auctioned silently, including gift certificate and basket from Angus Barn. Ten door prizes, valued at $25 to $100, will also be awarded.

Proceeds of the gala will benefit local children via the Backpack Buddies program, supplying weekly allotments of food to underprivileged children in Garner elementary schools.
Additional gala proceeds will support the Garner Mid-Day Rotary Club's scholarship programs for Garner Magnet High School students.

Title sponsors of the gala include diamond sponsor Swift's Fine Jewelry of Knightdale, and Grand Marquise Ballroom. Additional tax-deductible sponsorships are available beginning at $500.

"Black, White & Bling Gala 2010 offers dancing, diamonds and the chance to bid on great items," says gala chair Julie Clark, "all for a great cause."
