PARIS, FRANCE, January 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) Paris's Louvre museum is showcasing the stunning artwork created by Luca Cambiaso, who was one of the most celebrated painters of 16th and 17th century Italy.
Art enthusiasts with Paris hotel bookings will not want to miss this retrospective of the great man's creative output, with about 50 pieces on show for visitors to enjoy and appreciate.
During his lifetime, Cambiaso was famous for the work he carried out on Genoese palaces and his paintings and drawings continued to be highly prized after his death.
The artist also trained a series of artists, with some items created by these "assistants" forming part of the display.
Reflecting on the variety of his oeuvre, the venue remarked: "Their diversity reveals the art of a great innovator, who first set his gaze on Michelangelo and Perino del Vaga, then Correggio and the late Venetians, as shown in his painting of Venus and Adonis."
The arts space revealed that Cambiaso's work was appreciated by many major collectors, with King Louis XIV, banker Everhard Jabach and Pierre-Jean Mariette just some of the enthusiasts who were enchanted by his expressions of creativity.
Guests staying at nearby accommodation such as the Hotel Des Arts Paris can view the exhibition until February 7th 2011.
Admission is included in the museum ticket price of EUR10 (GBP8.40), with the Louvre opening from 09:00 local time every day - except Tuesdays, when it is closed - and shutting at 22:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays and 18:00 every other day.
For more information on this event, visit the Louvre website or contact the venue on +33 1 40 20 57 60.
