Straighterline Launches Nationwide Campus Rep Program

StraighterLine announces the launch of its Campus Rep program. The new national program lets students apply to be Campus Representatives on their home campuses.

2011-01-19
BALTIMORE, MD, January 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) StraighterLine (http://www.straighterline.com) announces the launch of its Campus Rep program. The new national program lets students apply to be Campus Representatives on their home campuses. Campus representatives will promote cost-effective options to earn college credits for local college and high school students. StraighterLine knows that the most innovative ideas come from the freshest minds and that's why it is giving students across the United States the chance to share their ideas and promote StraighterLine online college classes to other students.

Many college students don't realize there are cost-effective ways to earn college credit. The Campus Rep program lets Reps help fellow students stay out of debt and stay on track for a degree. These Campus Representatives are given the opportunity to be the voice of higher education for the future.

Why should students join the program? The Campus Representative program gives students a unique opportunity to learn more about their college campus and peers, motivate their peers to complete their college degree with the help of StraighterLine, and gain valuable work experience. Students are also compensated during the course of the program.

"Today, students have exponentially more online and face-to-face learning options available to them," says Burck Smith, StraighterLine's CEO. "With this much choice, students can - for maybe the first time in history - affect college prices and quality by voting with their feet. By picking courses and schools that provide the best value for their money and that recognize that learning can take place anywhere. Campus Reps will help students choose."

StraighterLine courses have been evaluated and recommended by the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT) and have met or exceeded the Distance Education and Training Council's standards for online course quality.

In addition, now High School students can take StraighterLine courses as an AP Test Prep alternative or as dual credit program. StraighterLine has received approval for the following online college courses to be listed as AP courses: Economics I: Macroeconomics, Economics II: Microeconomics, English Composition, and General Calculus I.

Currently, StraighterLine offers 15 entry-level college courses online, including College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Business Writing, Introduction to Biology, Introduction to Biology with a lab, General Chemistry 1, General Chemistry 1 with a lab, English Comp I, English Comp II, Accounting I, Accounting II, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Business Statistics and two developmental courses, with more to be offered soon.

With StraighterLine, students pay only $99 per month plus $39 per course started and can move as quickly or slowly through the material as they like. Students can take freshman and introductory-level classes and save thousands of dollars earning their college degree. With the voice of Campus Representatives on campuses across the United States students can choose to save money on their college degree instead of graduating in a pile of debt.

About StraighterLine

StraighterLine is a leader in making a quality college education more affordable. StraighterLine's programs are a great way to tackle the escalating cost of four-year college tuition and avoid a mountain of student debt.

StraighterLine offers two innovative programs. The "Freshman Year for $999" program is designed to help college students and their families address rampant rising tuition costs of college education. Students can take up to 10 StraighterLine courses for a single fee of $999 and realize savings of more than 90 percent versus the first-year tuition at many colleges. Students can also enroll in a subscription package for $99 a month that allows students who can move the material even faster an opportunity for even greater savings. Both programs include up to 10 hours of one-on-one instructional support.

Students who successfully complete StraighterLine online college courses receive credit when they enroll with any school in our rapidly expanding network of regionally accredited partner colleges and universities. In addition, the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT - www.acenet.edu/acecredit/) has also evaluated and recommended college credit for StraighterLine courses. ACE CREDIT helps students gain access to academic credit at colleges and universities for formal courses and examinations taken in settings outside traditional higher education. StraighterLine also offers a tuition assistance program as a benefit for companies to provide to employees interested in earning their college degree.
