CUMMING, GA, January 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Justopenthebook.com is an online Christian ministry whose mission is to encourage others to develop a closer relationship with God by opening and studying His word. Recently, two close friends of the owners of justopenthebook.com were diagnosed with breast cancer, and the ministry decided to help breast cancer research.

To help support the battle against breast cancer, 10 percent of all donations received by justopenthebook.com in the month of January will be given to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. Donations are accepted at http://www.justopenthebook.com

Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure and the 3-Day for the Cure, the organization has invested more than $1.5 billion to fulfill its promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

The Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a three day, 60 mile walk with participants gaining sponsorships to raise funds for research to end breast cancer. The event runs in 14 major cities through the summer and fall of 2011, beginning in Boston in late July and finishing with a final event in San Diego November 18-20.

Over 1 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Beyond the obvious risk of mortality, those diagnosed with breast cancer face challenges to their physical health, emotional stability, social well-being, self image, and financial impacts of treatment. Please join us in helping to get closer to a cure.
