Each student will receive the school's letter explaining the key aspects of the plan allocation of the grant.

The measure would cover the subsidy only for a purchase of a new notebook PC that complies with all relevant provisions of the Cyprus legislation and comply with minimum standards set by the Ministry of Education and Culture together with the accompanying software system. Transactions valid for the subsidy should be made until August 31st, 2011 closing date of the current school year.

The minimum specifications include 15.4" WXGA display with resolution of 1280x800, processor at 2.0GHz or at 1.6GHz with dual core, DDR2 memory of 2 GB and 667Mhz, hard drive capacity of 160GB, connectivity via Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g and LAN of 10/100MB, 2 USB (2.0) ports, DVD ± RW Dual layer internal optical drive, software OS with Windows VISTA Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Premium or the latest version installed before delivery and a warranty of minimum 2 years. The laptop to purchase in order to get the Government Subsidy has to be equal to or be more advanced than the minimum standards described above.
