Participating in a barter exchange is a way for the small business owner to improve cash flow. By not having to spend cash on needed services such as web design, marketing or office cleaning, they are able to use cash where most needed in business. One of the biggest advantages by being an AllCity Barter member is that a business selling their goods or services at full retail, are purchasing at their wholesale cost. An example would be a carpet cleaner who has a cost of goods sold of 20%. If he sells a job of $100 he has actually spent $20. When that same member purchases dental work of $1000 from an exchange member it actually cost him $200 (20%) out of pocket.
