BROOKLYN, NY, January 28, 2011 (Press-News.org) Gowanus Print Lab of Brooklyn, New York has announced the introduction of a new week-long course for anyone who would like to start their own t-shirt screen printing business. Ground Up! Starting Your Own T-Shirt Business will cover all aspects of t-shirt printing, including digital art production, screen printing small runs, and the challenges and rewards of the business.

"This is a course our clients have been asking for," said Ashley Hildreth, director of Gowanus Print Lab. "There are quite a few screen printing classes offered throughout Brooklyn, but they focus on learning the basics or on mastering advanced printing skills. None of them take the "ground up" approach to screen printing as a rewarding and sustainable business, as well as a form of artistic expression."

Ground Up! is a modular, 5-session course running Monday through Friday, February 14th through the 18th, and students can take one, some or all of the classes. The itinerary is as follows:

Monday, February 14th
Session I: Artwork Prep & Color Separation 101
7-10pm $120
How to take an image, separate the colors, and prepare it for screen printing.

Tuesday, February 15th

Using 4- and 6-color presses for short run t-shirt production.

Friday, February 18th - Advanced Screen Printing Techniques
6-9pm $ 200
Speciality inks and other advanced processes that make every t-shirt look like one-of-a-kind. This module also includes 12 hours of studio time so that students can put their knowledge of advanced techniques into practice.

"We've brought together a number of classes that cover all the basics of t-shirt printing as a business," Ashley continued. "Putting them together in this week-long course gives budding entrepreneurs all of the information they need to start their own business by the end of the week." Students who sign up for all 5 classes also receive a free week of studio membership to practice their new craft and produce merchandise.

Participants can register online at www.gowanusprintlab.com, or by calling 718-788-3930.

Among the more common inherently dangerous sports is downhill skiing -- gliding down icy slopes at high speeds complete with moguls, trees, rocks and dramatic changes in the terrain. The fact that Kubicek was a medical marijuana shop employee is not irrelevant. His arrest is one example of how the state of Colorado and local law enforcement agencies have increased scrutiny of the controversial ...
