LateRooms.com - Watch Tim Minchin vs the WASO in Perth

The comic will take to the stage with the backing of a 55-piece orchestra.

2011-01-28
PERTH, AUSTRALIA, January 28, 2011 (Press-News.org) Superstar comedian Tim Minchin will soon be bringing his unique act to Perth, backed by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO).

The funnyman is set to play two dates in the west coast city - on March 4th and 5th 2011 - as part of his tour of the country, with Perth hotels likely to be in short supply at the time of the gigs.

Described by the promoter as Minchin's biggest ever live show, it will feature a whole host of brand new material, as well as a few much-loved classic tracks to keep long-standing fans happy.

However, even cheap hotels Perth guests who have seen the comic in action before will not have heard his songs performed with the backing of the 55-piece WASO.

Support on both nights will come from local act Split Seconds, whose tracks - such as Paper Boy and Bed Down - helped them win the Perth Triple J Unearthed music competition. DJ Anton Maz will also play two sets during the evening to ensure the atmosphere remains lively throughout.

Anyone keen to stay in cheap hotels in the area and watch Minchin live should note the Friday March 4th concert is sold out, but general admission tickets are still available for the following night, priced at AU$77.

Gates at the Pioneer Women's Memorial in King's Park and Botanic Garden will open at 16:30 local time.

For more information on this concert, head to the WASO website.
