HOLLYWOOD, CA, January 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) Hollywood, California's The Fabulous Miss Wendy continues her ascension through the musical ranks with a number of exciting gigs lined up, including four dates with guitar legend, Slash. After an extremely successful performance in Detroit at WRIF's "Jingle Ball," the band is garnering even more positive media attention and driving fans wild from coast to coast. Combining the sun drenched warmth of Southern California with a gritty punk rock edge; Wendy and company have continued to make waves throughout the music scene since their arrival.
The series of shows with former Guns 'N Roses lead guitarist is just the latest in a series of achievements for the burgeoning musician, who will sprinkle in other regional dates in between opening up for Slash. Locations include:
1/25/11 - Speaking Rock Entertainment Center - El Paso, TX - FREE
1/29/11 - The Depot - Salt Lake City, UT - $25.00
2/13/11 - The House of Blues - Chicago, IL - $38.00
2/17/11 - The Fillmore - Charlotte, NC - $28.00
This announcement follows The Fabulous Miss Wendy's breakout show in Detroit at WRIF's special Christmas show, "Jingle Ball," where she was joined by former Kid Rock lead guitarist, Kenny Olsen. The pair roared through a series of scintillating covers, including The Stooges' "Search and Destroy," MC5's "Kick out the Jams," and Jimi Hendrix's "Fire."
M. St Aubin M. Walentowicz, editor of The Detroit Rock Blog was undeniably impressed, saying "She turned on the octane for the Detroit crowd, and demonstrated how her brand of Southern California pop/punk is not only seductive, it's powerfully addictive. This L.A. fireball can flat out play, holding her own on stage in a guitar 'duel' against a fired up Kenny Olsen."
They were also equally taken with her self-titled LP, and quickly named her "Best New Artist" in their list of 2010's top albums. "It's been a loooooooong time, since we've been completely blown away with an artist's level of raw talent, natural beauty, and infectious enthusiasm for music and life," said Walentowicz.
If you're not fortunate enough to reside within striking distance of one Wendy's performances with Slash, she has three other dates scheduled:
1/22/11 - The Twisted Music Fest 5 at Chasers Night Club - Scottsdale, AZ - $10
1/26/11 - The Juggernaut - Gallop, NM - $5
2/14/11 - Reggie's Music Joint - Chicago, IL - FREE
