City Planners Cite Parks and Stadiums as a Source of Community Productivity

A study on city productivity has city planners citing that increased outdoor parks and stadiums boost productivity from local residents.

2011-01-30
LEXINGTON, VA, January 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) As cities and local communities continue to expand in every direction, it's no surprise that the number of green parks and outdoor stadiums have been falling in number over the last few years. In the place of bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers across green baseball and football fields, city and community residences are greeted by condominiums, malls and office buildings.

However, trading bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers for additional city and community space may seem like a step in the right direction for cities and communities looking to maximize their real estate and grow their local economy, city planners are now stating otherwise.

A recently published study shows that outdoor parks and stadiums that allow local residences to gather, play, compete and take part in a variety of athletic activities actually increase community and city productivity by a significant margin. Companies that had taken part in the study cite less sick leaves, vacation leaves and employee discontent amongst staff members located in and around park and stadium areas. These employees have been recorded to be very active in outdoor and team sports, as well as their local community.

Although the addition of simple improvements such as bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers that surround well maintained open fields seem like an arbitrary consideration when it comes to increased community productivity, but studies have shown that it is actually strongly related.

The installment of bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers in community parks and stadiums not only promote a sense of camaraderie and unity between residences, but this increased sense of wellness is directly tied to productivity, researchers say.

Founded in Orlando, Florida back in 1998, ParknPool has managed to grow from representing a single manufacturer of furniture for commercial pools to offering one of the widest catalogue of world-class outdoor furniture such as bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers from over forty various manufacturing companies all over the country. The goal of ParknPool, unlike many of its competitors, is to provide unparalleled integrity and competence in both its services and its products such as its high-quality bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers.

As cities like Orlando, Florida move to increase the number of outdoor parks and outdoor stadiums with the help of companies such as ParknPool with their top of the line bleacher seating and aluminum bleachers, more and more cities and local communities are following suit in bringing more of the outdoors back to the outdoors.
