Recent Graduate Brings Web 2.0 to Retirement Industry With Carolina Aging

Having observed general Internet misuse by the Carolinas' retirement industry, a recent UNC graduate is filling many industry voids with www.carolinaaging.com.

CHARLOTTE, NC, February 01, 2011

In an effort to help the Carolinas' retirement industry more effectively utilize the Internet, William Nutt has created carolinaaging.com, a user-friendly resource for retirement community and geriatric service listings. Lists feature unprecedented comprehensiveness, allowing visitors to easily compare communities and services. Additionally, the site uses a blog, an e-newsletter and social networks to interact with seniors, their loved ones and industry stakeholders.

Nutt graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December 2009 and subsequently joined a Charlotte-based retirement community developer as an entry-level communications specialist. He quickly observed the poor transition of retirement community guides from print to the Internet as well as the general absence of the industry from social networks and other new media tools. Nutt created carolinaaging.com to serve as the first comprehensive retirement community guide online, and to provide the Carolinas' retirement industry with a Web 2.0 presence.

Independent living retirement community lists have been added for most of North Carolina's largest cities, and Nutt expands the material daily. With the continual evolution of both the retirement industry and Internet technologies and trends, carolinaaging.com will remain a work in progress.
