EDMONTON, AB, February 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) "With this latest CRTC ruling on Internet metering, Canada shows once again it does not care about small business," says Greg Kopchuk, Edmonton-based ML of ActionCOACH Canada, the world's #1 business coaching firm.
On Jan 28, the CRTC issued a ruling that "smaller Canadian Internet service providers, who operate via networks owned by bigger telecom firms such as BCE, will soon have to pass along the bulk of their host's charges for extra bandwidth use." (Victoria Times-Colonist, Jan 28, 2011).
Asked by clients what this means for small business, Kopchuk clarified:
"It's disastrous. This decision rewards the big companies & penalizes the smaller companies, who, if the ruling sticks, will be turned into fee collectors for big companies like BCE."
"Bandwidth is not like water or electricity. There's no need for "metering" & I'm surprised, unpleasantly, that the CRTC even considered this. When you're running a small business, every penny, every percentage point, counts. Bottom line? This is bad for competition. And anything bad for competition is bad for business," says Kopchuk.
Greg Kopchuk heads up ActionCOACH Canada, the #1 business coaching firm in Canada. They work with established and emerging small and medium businesses. They are the winners of the CFA Bronze Award of excellence for non-traditional franchises.

The Issue of Child Custody in Bucks County...and Why Mediation and Collaborative Law Are the Only Answers
2011-02-03
I've been asked by a lot of people recently, who don't know yet about the type of divorce law that Timby Hunt practices, "why is collaborative divorce and divorce mediation the best way to deal with child custody issues, in Bucks County?"
First of all, in the collaborative process, we don't call it custody, we call it parenting, because that's really what clients are doing...their parenting their children, just from two different households.
What's really beneficial is that clients don't have to talk to the attorney about parenting - in terms of the schedule - as ...

House Owners Chase Energy Savings
2011-02-03
"For the first time, energy renovations top the list of preferred improvements among home owners. Earlier people favored kitchen and bath in particular. One explanation for this change can be the cold winter, rising energy taxes and more focus on the climate," says Lars Majgaard Kjaer, chief of valuation, Realkredit Danmark.
Realkredit Danmark's survey on the house improvement website Kloge m2 ('Smart m2') shows that 4 out of 10 house owners are taking or plan to take energy improvement measures, while only every third house owner now wants a new kitchen or bath.
