NANAIMO, BC, February 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) iDUS Controls Ltd., makers of the Home Conservepump, is pleased to announce the successful launch of its home greywater recycling system. The launch of the Home Conservepump grey water reuse system has exceeded the company's expectations. "Reducing water consumption is a key objective of sustainable building and the response from that sector to our residential grey water system has been fantastic," commented Ron Hartman, CEO of iDUS Controls. "Not only has the product won a number of awards for innovation and environmental excellence, but we are securing mainstream distribution through our partnerships with wholesale distributors."
The iDUS Home Conservepump is an easy to use comprehensive solution to reduce water use through water recycling. By reusing bath and shower grey water to flush the toilet, Conservepump is both environmentally friendly and economical. The unit mounts on the wall of a utility space and is easily integrated into existing plumbing, shower and toilet fixtures. The easy to install, affordable home water recycling system can reduce residential water consumption by up to 30%.
Mr. Hartman noted: "It really doesn't make any sense to flush perfectly good drinking water down the toilet, when most households generate about the same amount of grey water from their bath and shower as their toilets need."
In 2010, iDUS was awarded the MISTIC Clean Technology Award and VIATeC's Environmental Excellence award. This award recognizes a company that has significantly demonstrated the environmental and economic benefits of sustainable technologies, though the design/manufacture or implementation of 'green' technologies which benefit the environment, and human health and safety.
Also in 2010, iDUS's Home Conservepump was made available in every Andrew Sheret Ltd. store throughout British Columbia. iDUS will announce additional distribution arrangements across Canada in 2011. iDUS has also launched its Garden Conservepump - a completely automated irrigation solution for rainwater collection systems. The Garden Conservepump's sensor based control system, irrigates only when needed, ensuring the most efficient reuse of rainwater compared to conventional irrigation systems.
