BELLEVUE, WA, February 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) On Thursday, February 3rd, the Association of Washington Business honored 10 Washington state employers for their excellence in protecting, training and compensating their employees.
AWB's 2011 Better Workplace Awards honors Washington companies that have set the bar for workplace safety, job training and advancement, and innovative benefit and compensation programs.
The 2011 awards were presented at AWB's annual Legislative Day, which was held at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia. Awards were presented by AWB President Don Brunell, Gov. Gregoire, and Tom Lemly of Davis Wright Tremaine. The awards are sponsored by Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.
"Each year, we are honored to recognize companies for their efforts to make their workplaces among the very best in the state. This year's crop of winners continues that tradition," said Brunell. "The 10 businesses we celebrate today have made an ongoing commitment to providing quality products and services while also tending to the needs of their employees. We are honored to count these companies among our members and to recognize the innovative ideas they bring to the Washington state workplace."
AWB's Better Workplace Awards program is open to all of the association's members. An independent panel of judges reviews all the nominees and evaluates the programs based on a variety of criteria, including their impact on employee morale, increases in worker productivity, improvements in recruitment and retention and reductions in the cost of worker training.
