The Culinary Studio Showcases Reality TV During Grand Opening Celebration in Southfield!

Detroit's own Top Chef John Somerville to showcase culinary talent. Season 7 Biggest Loser contestant Carla Triplett to provide healthy eating tips.

SOUTHFIELD, MI, February 14, 2011

Southfield, Mich. - The Culinary Studio, a new Southfield-based business, is celebrating their grand opening on Wednesday, February 16th at 29673 Northwestern Highway, Southfield in the Applegate Shopping Center. The grand opening will feature an array of events to satisfy every level of culinary interest.

Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence will kick off the activities with the official ribbon cutting at 10:30 AM along with Carla Triplett from season seven of The Biggest Loser who will be providing healthy eating tips. Season 7 Top Chef John Somerville from The Lark will also be showcasing his talents during the day along with Chef Larry Duren, executive chef at the DIA.

Owners, Jo Coleman and Cassandra Morrison (Chef Cassie) will be available all day for studio tours and to answer questions about how entrepreneurs can use the facility. The event is open to the public from noon to 6p.m.

"Our grand opening celebration will showcase the vast flexibility of The Culinary Studio," says Coleman. "It's not just a kitchen, but a culinary concept...beautifully planned and equipped to fulfill many culinary needs."

The Culinary Studio's commercial kitchens are available for hourly rent and offer clean and convenient space for all your food oriented needs: food preparation, packaging, catering, baking, cooking classes and private social/corporate events. As the first commercial kitchen incubator in the Metro-Detroit area, culinary entrepreneurs will be able to launch or increase their businesses while reducing overhead costs. Resources and services will be made available to help clients of The Culinary Studio grow their businesses locally.

"We're excited to be the first to bring this concept to the Metro-Detroit area," said Morrison. "We're hoping to spark ideas in people and encourage them to take their catering business or hobby to the next level."
