All Systems Broadband Expands Transceiver Offering

Company offers "one-stop shopping" for all SFP / XFP needs.

LIVERMORE, CA, February 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) All Systems Broadband (ASB) has expanded its offering of Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers and similar products. Its product line now covers most all of the transceivers commonly used by service providers such as CATV companies and Telcos.

"The market has responded well to our initial SFP offering," says Jason Skeoch, CEO, "and customers have told us that they would prefer a single vendor that can provide devices that will fit all of their MSA-compatible equipment." The company's offering delivers a complete line of SFPs, and also includes items from the same product family such as XFPs, XENPAK, and X2s.

SFPs have become the workhorse of modern telecommunication and data networks, offering a simple way to allow equipment such as switches and routers to be equipped with the correct optical connection for the chosen application. Offering a wide array of distance and bandwidth choices, these transceivers greatly simplify the task of those engineering these increasingly complex networks.

Mike Grice, the company's Vice-President of Product Development, indicates that there are literally hundreds of different codes of transceivers that a customer has to choose from. "We have spent the time, and done our homework, to be better equipped to help our customers with their across-the-board needs for transceivers," he says. "Our customers have told us that they want as much simplicity as possible in an area of their business that can be quite complex. We have built a complete product line in the hopes of being able to fill this need."
