Ms Ono is also famous for her music and film making along with brining feminism to the forefront and was considered to be a pioneer of the 70s new wave genre. Ms Ono, a philanthropist, has played a part in contributing to the arts, peace and AIDS outreach program. More recently in 2010 Ms Ono was named the Global Autism Ambassador and appeared alongside Ringo Starr in New York for Starrs 70th birthday performing the song, with a little help from my friends.
