Pitney Bowes Announces P/I OfficeMail 3

Further functionality added to desktop-driven print and mail solution

2011-02-16
WINDSOR, ENGLAND, February 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Pitney Bowes has introduced the latest version of its P/I OfficeMail software - an innovative, secure hybrid mail solution that automates the process of mailing desk-top generated documents. P/I OfficeMail software is an integral part of Pitney Bowes Production Intelligence software solutions to link print and mail.

With Pitney Bowes P/I OfficeMail software, users simply create documents and, with the click of a mouse, submit them for printing and mailing. Instead of being printed locally on desktop printers and manually processed, documents are aggregated and transmitted to an in-house print-and-mail centre or an off-site facility for efficient production.

Among the many Version 3 new enhancements are:

Pay-as-you-go facility
Users now have the option of buying credit and using P/I OfficeMail on a pay-as-you-go basis. This helps make hybrid mail an attractive solution for individuals and businesses of every size. In particular, pay-as-you-go enables private posts and print and mail providers to benefit from hybrid mail automation.

Batch document mailing
Many office-based print-jobs are created as multi-document PDF's. P/I OfficeMail can now auto-mail these jobs to benefit from the consistency and technical quality of centralised print and mail production environments.

Submitting documents via batch document mailing also gives users the safeguard of a robust, fully automated track-and-trace service, providing an audit trail to satisfy the strictest compliance demands.

P/I OfficeMail software aggregates enterprise desktop mail to the production facility to gain economy-of-scale, integrity control, and the ability to track and manage every customer communication.

The solution builds on comprehensive Production Intelligence software solutions with P/I Output Manager and P/I Output Enhancement centralised output management and DFWorks automated document factory systems.

The P/I OfficeMail software helps organisations reduce the cost of customer-facing mail that must be created individually. One-off communications in the office environment often require additional operator time and production expense. P/I OfficeMail software frees personnel resources to focus on core business activity, and reduce unit costs for these communications. This greater efficiency also delivers the added benefit of leaving a smaller carbon footprint by aggregating ad hoc operations.

Grant Miller, Vice President, Global Strategic Product Management at Pitney Bowes , comments: "P/I OfficeMail is a tremendous fit for any global customer looking for productivity, efficiency and communication effectiveness. In Europe, we have enormous interest from enterprise customers who see real benefit in aggregating print and mail - from both a cost perspective, and in terms of bringing greater professionalism and integrity to their communications."

"We now have major enterprises putting significant volume through P/I OfficeMail and the latest version of the solution is geared towards adding even greater convenience and value."
