PARIS, FRANCE, February 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) Paris's Jeu de Paume will play host to a retrospective exhibition of Aernout Mik's work, which will include a newly commissioned piece called Shifting Sitting.
The display as a whole is called Communitas and will incorporate eight installations.
Mik has been consulted on how his art should be presented to the viewer, so the architecture around the work will be aimed at compounding the power of his creations.
The Dutch artist won the Sandberg Prize for two films he made in 1996 - Lick and Fluff - and has gone on to receive widespread acclaim for his creations.
One of the anticipated highlights of the collection will be Shifting Sitting, which looks at the concept of democracy in Europe.
The collection will be on show from March 1st to May 8th 2011, with admission costing EUR8.50 (GBP7.20).
Opening hours are from 12:00 to 21:00 local time on Tuesday, 12:00 to 19:00 from Wednesday to Friday and 10:00 until 19:00 at the weekend.
If people are keen to find a hotel in Paris, they can look through a wide variety on Hotels-Paris.co.uk, including the Hotel Darcet Paris and the Hotel le Pasteur Paris - both of which are in the city centre.
