Technology transfer out of the Blue

At Linear Blue we specialise in designing bespoke and custom database solutions to fit your businesses needs.

HURST, UK, August 13, 2010

It's a quirk of technology, but not all websites can be viewed on the new iPad and mobile devices as they can on laptops and desktop computers. It's that anomaly that is causing businesses a headache, but one Berkshire company has set out to correct this issue with their new design service.

Linear Blue, a web and database development company based in Hurst, is redesigning websites utilising HTML5 which enables websites to be viewed on all desktop and mobile platforms.

One of the first Reading companies to trial it is Rabbits Vehicle Hire.

Rabbit's Steve Dore said: "Linear Blue has developed and hosted our web presence which has improved our business exponentially. Working with them has been one of the best business decisions we have made."

Steve Payne, Head of Business Development at Linear Blue, said: "Websites do not work the same way on all platforms and businesses need to have well designed websites to ensure they reach users across all devices. Mobile and touch / slide devices have added interactive functionality that can't be accessed on a PC.

"Linear Blue's new brand, Cortela (www.cortela.co.uk) is tailored to iPad, mobile and touch-screen devices and the new technology allows us to add new interactive functionality that is pushing the technology further.

"It became clear with the launch of the iPad and other electronic devices that change from portrait to landscape format would not support Flash animation. If your website has been built using Flash technology it will not display on an iPad. Your customers will not be able to see or use part of your site, or worse, your site may not display at all on that device.

"With Cortela a website becomes compatible with all current technologies, retaining animation and giving the same user experience they would expect while adding new interactions."

In addition to internet solutions, Linear Blue also creates sales order processing, customer relationship databases and bespoke solutions.

The company has recently opened a second office in Paddington and is recruiting in the area.
