PHUKET, THAILAND, February 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) DirectRooms.com announces the Somerset College Writers Festival in the Gold Coast region of Australia at Mudgeerabe. The event takes place from 16th to 18th March 2011 following the International Conference of Librarians and Teachers.
The festival brings experienced published authors and students together to discuss books and story ideas and allows budding authors to spend time with those with experience. Ticket prices vary per seminar and are available for sale beginning 14th February 2011.
There are events scheduled for both children and adults. These events will include a children's workshop to discuss creating and illustrating children's books. There will be a presentation providing information on getting published and a discussion of young adult literature styles and interests. For students age 10-15 there will be a group writing exercise to learn to take the written word and create a stage performance. Several well-known authors will be available to discuss their work. The festival culminates in the announcement of the winner of the national 11th annual novella-writing contest
Events will take place at the Radisson Resort Gold Coast and Somerset College. Other hotel Gold Coast lodging is available as well. There will be a literary lunch on the 17th at the college and a dinner on the 18th at the Radisson Resort Gold Coast.
Somerset College is an inter-denominational school that began teaching in 1983. 60 schools will be present for this event that showcases writing talent and encourages students and adults to pursue their interest in the written word.
